He was one the crowd of Republicans that were<b> <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/16/opinion/16brooks.html?_r=2&ref=opinion&oref=slogin" rel="nofollow"> strongly pro Obama </a></b> during the 2008 presidential election season. He is part of the GOP that is still trying to wrestle away the Party from religious conservative right. BTW, David Brooks <b><a href="http://newsbusters.org/blogs/p-j-gladnick/2009/03/03/david-brooks-wakes-late-barack-obama-not-who-we-thought-he-was" rel="nofollow">regrets</a></b> his vote for Barack Obama.
